Going to Puerto Rico in June was probably not the best idea, we wanted to go hiking through the rain forest but when we got there we soon learned that wasn't the best idea. We rented a car right after arriving from the airport so we drove ourselves up to the rain forest. Our phone GPS had us going the wrong way and not wanting to connect right while driving around, so we would defiantly recommend looking up directions before going if you are going to be driving yourself.
Driving up we stopped at a coconut shack where I got one to drink while going up the rest of the way! There wasn't much else on the way up to the entrance of the forest, so if you want drinks or snacks I recommend bringing them with you. But please remember what ever you take up there, take back with you!

On our way there we did stop at the Yokahú Tower, an 75 foot observation tower that was constructed in 1963. The tower is open Wednesday through Sunday 9 AM to 4 PM. At the top of the tower there is a panoramic view of the northeastern coast, off shore island and the mountain peaks. You just have to climb up 98 steps to get to the top to see it.

We had heard that all through out the rain forest there are nature made water slides that people, especially the locals go to play in the water. Once getting to the parking area of the rain forest though we realized just how hot it was with no wind factor up there. We went and looked at the waterfall that is along the road then we got back in the car with the nice AC and went back into town.
