Las Vegas
February 2-5

Las Vegas was a popular stop on the Spanish trail, given its name by the explorers in 1829 "the Meadows." Originally the strip was nothing more than a road with two lanes that ran across the desert. In 1906 the first official Casino the Golden Gate Hotel and Casino opened, becoming the first of many casinos that would make up the future famous Las Vegas Strip! The strip was originally located downtown on Fremont Street and continued to become popular as it became a spot for not only gambling but entertainment as well. When the Flamingo Hotel was built in 1946 this is when the Strip we know today began to take shape.

How to pack
Remember things in Vegas are expensive, so if you can bring any snacks or things you may want do so! If you get cold easy remember this is a desert and it dose get cold at night bring warm clothes or a jacket!
How to dress
Vegas is one of the few places you could dress how ever you want and get away with it! There are some places that require you to dress up more but you can look up where you are going to find that out.
Helpful tips
If you are wanting to drink pre gaming is a good option to save some money. We bought a bottle of rum and some soda to bring to our rooms to make drinks before walking on the strip!

Getting around
We decided ahead of time to get a couple days of the monorail pass, if we were staying closer to the stop we may of used it more. The one time we did it didn't save us to much time because we had to backtrack to what we were going to.
Everywhere else we used Uber to get where we were going, we had someone in our party that was injured and couldn't walk much. The base price we paid was $10 for a ride. Multiple of our drivers complained about others on the road one even saying "that's why insurance is so high here!" I personally don't think renting a car would of been cheaper or saved any time.
Best time to visit
Other then going for a convention or a show the best time to go to Las Vegas is March to May and again September to November when the weather is at its best.
Food
We went to a few fun places to eat mostly along the strip.
Egg shop- Was walking distance from our hotel and had really good breakfast and lunch as well as smoothies!
Rainforest Cafe- Rainforest themed restaurant with animatronic animals moving on the walls in the decor.
Margaritaville- Jimmy Buffet themed restaurant that has his personal alcohol and mixers

We stayed in the soon to be torn down tropicana, we got a deal through Expedia to package out rooms with our plane tickets. We went on the weekend before Superbowl would be there so we got a good deal! Once we got to the room we upgraded to a suite for $50 more a night to stay up on one of the higher floors.
