In Cabo we decided to do a glass bottom boat tour, looking on viator we only found one that was under $100 apiece that would pick us up and take us back from the tour. While we were hoping to do a full glass boat we settled on one that had glass ports in the bottom of the boat.

Our tour began with going to the pelican rock that was rightfully named by all the pelicans on it that we saw. Just past the rock, our guide threw some bread over the side of the boat to attract the fish. Then there was a swarm of them, we got to see them through the ports that opened to reveal underneath the boat. The area that we were in is a very popular spot for snorkeling, though the only way you can get to this spot is via the water either boat or kayak. This is all on the Sea of Cortez side of the peninsula. The popular beach along this side is the lovers beach, over looking the harbor of San Locus Bay it is the more calm area.

This beach is great for swimming, snorkeling and even has kayaks to rent to get to the beach. The eroded granite rock around this area date back to 30 million years ago and frames the beaches very beautifully. By walking through a gap in the rocks you can get to the pacific side to the beach known as Divorce Beach. While this side is equally as beautiful it gets its name from being the rough side of the little island, where the Pacific Ocean meets the land. It is not recommended to swim on this side due to the rough-ness and strong rip currents.

On the Ocean side is an limestone arch that is locally and appropriately known as El Arco, over a millennia ago was carved by the same winds and tidal forces that make the divorce beach so dangerous. This symbol of Los Cabos in the state of Baja California Sur, is know worldwide for its natural beauty. Its southernmost point is the exact spot where the Pacific and the Gulf of California come together and contrasts with the mountainous desert landscape onshore.

In recent years geologists have noticed certain structural changes in the formation and after the latest hurricanes scientists have found flaking off portions of the rocky cliffside that are cascading along the edge of the Arch's base. This is forecasting the collapse of the arch in the undetermined future. The importance of the Arch goes beyond its scenic and historical beauty, it provides key element of economic activity in the area. Providing local residents with a renewable work source with attracting tourists from all over the world. Experts feel another hurricane similar to Odile though could bring a collapse to the Arch, though of course there is no way to know exactly when it could fall. It might hopefully still stay around for another hundreds of years.

Our tour only lasted a hour we didn't get a lot of exposure to the tropical fish but we did get time to see the land formations of this amazing area and of course some time with the Arch. After our tour we got some time to go around town and do some tequila tasting as well as some shopping. It wasn't until we were about to be picked back up to go back to our resort that we found a massage place that we wish we had found at the beginning of our 2 hour shopping walk. We didn't get much most of our time we spent getting some lunch at a taco place! Then we got a ride back to our resort.
