Zak Bagans' The Haunted Museum

We are huge Halloween and haunt fanatics, so I was super excited to hear about Zak Bagans' The Haunted Museum. What I was expecting was in part what we got...  we paid for the VIP experience and hoped/ expected that with this we would be treated as such the title entailed. Sadly this was not the case as the VIP does get you entrance into rooms and experiences that the rest of the tour does not include what it still does include is the pushy tour guide not giving you any time to look or enjoy things. As haunters, my mom and I wanted to look at the little details of the rooms and how things were set up but we hardly got more than 5 min per room before our large group was ushered into the next room. And when we told him we wanted to look at things and details we were told there would be time or that we would be going back and we never got this. We understand trying to get people in and out as quickly and orderly as possible but when people are paying over $80 a piece it's nice for them to get what they are looking for. It was really cool seeing some of the artifacts that Zak has collected over the years but sadly he is very full of himself in both the videos explaining the rooms (before entering each one) as well as posting the news articles of him buying all the trinkets inside that are famous.

With that review in mind I am glad we went I enjoyed seeing a lot of the things that were inside as having more of a horror background I think really helped respect some of the things. But I wish that it was done more tastefully and more like a museum than a show-off display.

You are not allowed to take any pictures inside or even have your phone on if you get as much as a text they will take your phone from you until the end of the tour. So they only let you take pictures in the lobby before going in. There are some amazing things inside I wish they would allow some pictures to be taken. If all the stories are true a lot of horror history that happened from serial killers to poltergeists is housed inside the museum. Some of my personal favorites were being able to see the glasses of Ted Bundy, one of the costumes of  John Wayne Gacy, the Dybbuk box

that the movie Possession is based on, and the devil's rocking chair. The last two are just things that make my inner horror nerd happy we didn't have any experiences with any of these things or any of their rooms.
